Exploring the local area
Wolf Valley Wilderness offers the perfect balance of being away from it all, whilst being perched in a perfect central location from which to explore. To your East is Dartmoor and the expanses of rural West Devon. To your West, the sandy beaches of Cornwall.
Where do we start when it comes to exploring Devon? It’s going to have to be with Dartmoor National Park, which offers miles and miles of incredible scenery, walks and even horse riding if you fancy! You can be there within 15 minutes, and if that’s not enough, we’ve put some more inspiration below for you, including Exeter (pictured), which is around a half an hours drive.
Head out of Wolf Valley Wilderness and within minutes, you’ll be on the main road into Cornwall. From there, the duchy really is your Oyster. The closest beaches are at Bude and Widemouth bay (both around a half an hour drive), but within reason, you can get to pretty much anywhere in Cornwall for a day trip. Do plan ahead if you’re sstaying in the summer though!
This place is a lovely Devon gem! We had a relaxing week with plenty of forest walks, fishing, chilling and exploring. There are many places to visit in the area but if you decide to be still and read books and do yoga, the place is perfect for it!
Very quiet area, the cabin is so cosy and well equipped, it allows you to relax and submerge in the surroundings.

Lucia was a wonderful hostess. very friendly, helpful and responsive. Good clear instructions on how to get there and the lodge was fab! Cosy yet modern and spotlessly clean, in peaceful surroundings. Lovely artwork around the lodge, all made by Lucia herself, which you can buy, along with their own wonderful honey. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

"Lucia is an incredible host and the cabin is warm, inviting and immaculate. Everything is perfectly thought through, comfortable living space, lovely sheets and towels, stunning woods to explore. The Dawn chorus is very special and you really feel wonderfully secluded yet the ‘real world’ is a stones throw for all your food shopping needs."

A truly wonderful place to stay. An amazing location for relaxing, walking in beautiful woodland and watching wildlife all around you - total peace and tranquility to re-charge your batteries. The cabin was spotless, comfortable, cosy and had everything we needed. Lucia and her family made us very welcome and provided a delicious cream tea on arrival.
